Catch My Episode Of Hanging With Langan

Today I got to be on Maureen Langan’s show “Hanging with Langan.” It’s not everyday I get interviewed by a award-winning journalist, comic, radio, and television personality, whose work I’m a fan of, and I had an absolute blast talking to her about everything from being a fathlete, to the truth about weight and health, to my becoming part of Fatch. She asks great questions and is, of course, hilarious.

Check it out here!

While you are at it, check out her past shows – the recent ones with Peter Biles are really interesting (he is a history professor and a comic!)

I’m also speaking at the Braving Body Shame online conference (it started this week but there’s still time to register!)

And tomorrow my group is recording our talk “Work It Out: Making Health and Fitness More Inclusive” for the Non-Obvious Beyond Diversity Summit which is taking place later this month and also includes fabulous fat activist Dr. Joy Cox!

Co-Founder of Intuitive Eating Explains How Kaiser Got It Wrong

In a recent newsletter, Kaiser Permanente promoted a page on their website about “Intuitive Eating” as part of their Thrive Program. The page has caused an uproar within the Intuitive Eating communities, so I reached out to Evelyn Tribole, who wrote (well, co-wrote) the book on Intuitive Eating, to get her reaction.

“They botched our model,” she said. “When they get it that wrong, honestly it makes me not want to read the rest of the article, but I did for my due diligence!”

Jen Kirkman Weaponizes Her Internalized Fatphobia and Fatch Talks About It

First of all, super exciting news – I have joined Fatch, a Fat Sketch Comedy Group whose members are all kick ass and hilarious women who I’m completely honored to get to join. (You may remember we recently collaborated on a song about the importance of Fat Friendly Seating!)

So today was my first episode of The Fat (think The View/The Real but fatter!) as a member of Fatch! We did a year-end wrap up during which we talked about Jen Kirkman, a comic who made a cheap fat joke on Twitter, then blocked the people who called her out on it (including me!) then called us all mean bullies, as well as discussing the COVID vaccine, and other fat going’s on.

You can watch the full episode here!
